In-state Tuition

Ohio honors the service of our military men and women by allowing any active duty military member and their dependents to be eligible for in-state college tuition at Ohio’s public colleges and universities. Students qualify as long as they are living in Ohio on the first day of the term of enrollment.

Ohio was the first state in the nation to offer in-state tuition for transitioning service members and their dependents.

PCS Enrollments

Ohio recognizes the challenges military families face, particularly in the midst of frequent transitions. A permanent change of station (PCS) every 2-5 years presents unique stressors for children adapting to a new school environment, and access to quality education is a top priority for parents everywhere. To make transitions easier, Ohio requires that all education agencies allow children of military families to participate in technology-based educational opportunities when those students’ families receive PCS orders relocating them to or within the state.
